I neglected, last week, when writing about the things I was grateful for, to say that I was grateful to have a tooth. I know it sounds stupid, but probably three or four hours after that post went live, in the wee hours of Monday morning, disaster struck. My tooth broke. In half. In my mouth. I spent an entire day stressing over making an appointment, so I didn't get around to calling about it until Tuesday, for a Wednesday appointment. Needless to say, I write to you now missing one molar. Heartbreakingly, the dentist would not let me keep my tooth for memory's sake, but that's okay. I got to pitch my book to the kind dental assistant who was getting me ready for the extraction, and she said she liked the plot. A win's a win, even in unlikely circumstances.
Now, I know I said I'd be done with the first draft last week, but I'm sure you can understand the slight delay. No biggie! No point in rushing a first draft. In the meantime, I'll indulge you in a preview of a pre-order bonus! I paid an artist to do a cute sticker design. I plan to have these printed and included in pre-order packages for free :)
Next week, I'm aiming to actually finish Tandem, and get this over to an initial reader as I cool off!
