For craft updates... there's a lot, haha. I've updated my projected word count from 87,000 words to 90,000 words after reworking some of the outlines for Act 3! Now, if you're wondering why it is Act 3 ended up needing a rework... I'm super excited to announce here first that Tandem is officially going to be the first book in a duology! There's so much within the Accord Universe that I'd like to give readers a chance to explore, and more time with our lovely leading couple is certainly not a bad thing! This realization has reinvigorated me to push towards completing this first draft and initial revisions. In the spirit of a November writing push, I'm hoping to make a good effort towards completing Book 2 then. I don't want to leave y'all waiting too long for more to read. :)
As I reflect on this week, I've been feeling really grateful for the warmth of the writing community. A few weeks ago I was invited to a Discord server for fellow sapphic authors, and within these few weeks alone I've learned so much from those who have been sharing their expertise in indie publishing and writing. I'd like to take a quick second to recognize a few of the influential people who have really shown a lot of support within the community: Nora Fares, K.E. Bartlet, and Alex Perez. If you feel like reading their work or checking out their social media I highly recommend it!
Lastly, I would also like to direct you to my newsletter. I know, I know, but hear me out. You can get a glimpse into the world of Tandem through it: the first of a few in-world documents is a freebie for anybody who signs up. I had a lot of fun making it and I'm hoping you'll love it like I do.
Next week, I'm aiming to finish the first draft of Tandem!! Absolutely wild to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.
